WORK IN PROGRESS

Introduction

Why does this page exist and why the reader should care.

Organization

How are things organized and why are they setup this way.

Release

These are big blocks of work that get packed up and released to the community. The goal is that a stage will consist of multiple milestones.

Milestones

Collections of features/tasks/work that achieves the goal set out durning the milestone definition.

Agile vs Waterfall

For this project we are going to be using a very Waterfall heavy process. This is not to say that we dislike agile, however given the structure of the project, community governance and the tracking/visualization needs for this project Waterfall makes much more sense.

However we are not going FULL waterfall either. We will be focusing on a waterfall management on the per milestone bases but using Agile for the release level work.

So what does that mean in practice? You can think of milestones as sprints with no set defined lenght. MS-N could take 1 month where MS-(N+1) might only take 2 weeks. This allows our community to focus on the features/works and it’s overall size/impact without having to concern themselves with how the team manages their internal execution.

Governance

How is work proposed and where does the lines exist between the development and the community.

Current Stage

Can I show some of the data from whatever the current stage is?
